Rock, MA
Today Brant Rock,
MA
is a small ocean hamlet with a population of just
a little over 5,000 yet historically it holds
a very important distingtion. One Hundred
years ago, in December of 1906, Reginald A. Fessenden
transmitted the first broadcast of the human voice
along with recorded and live music.
On December 29,
2006 at
3:00 pm EST we will gather at the same location
that Fessenden used 100 years ago. In the
shadow of the original concrete base that suppoorted
Station "BO" (Big Ocean) antenna, these
radio operators will exchange Greeting and Salutations
in honor of the Brant Rock group.
Fessenden's right
hand man, Adam Stein was the first voice to be
heard over the Atlatic ocean. His grandson,
George A. Stein, NJ3H will join our group and operate
wireless voice transmitting equipment just as his
Grandfather did.

Operated from Brant Rock.
